Requirements for Registering a Company in Tanzania
The information and documents BRELA generally requires before a company can be incorporated.
The following information and documents are generally required:
- Proposed Company Name: a suitable name must be submitted to BRELA for approval.
- Memorandum and Articles of Association: these documents set out the company's objectives, structure, and internal governance.
- Shareholders' Information: full names, nationality, addresses, identification details, and shareholding information.
- Directors' Information: full names, nationality, addresses, contact information, and valid identification documents.
- Registered Office Address: the company must provide an official registered address in Tanzania.
- Identification Documents: National ID/NIDA information for Tanzanian nationals and valid passport copies for foreign nationals, as applicable.
- Beneficial Ownership Information: details of the company's beneficial owners must be provided in accordance with applicable requirements.
